Trend signals for Etsy & print-on-demand sellers

FAQ

Common questions

What is HypeToCart?
HypeToCart is a free weekly trend radar for Etsy and print-on-demand sellers, with a US edition and a UK edition. It is built and run by a UK Etsy seller. It publishes derived growth rates from search, YouTube, Pinterest, eBay and Etsy.
Are the growth figures in the tables seasonally adjusted?
No. Table figures are raw week-on-week and month-on-month percentages, not seasonally adjusted.
When is a cross-platform signal seasonally adjusted?
Table week-on-week and month-on-month figures are raw, not seasonally adjusted. The cross-platform signal subtracts the same week last year only when a source still has at least 54 weekly points after it is lined up with the shortest series on that keyword. In practice that is only Google Trends (UK and US) (web, Shopping and YouTube search), which has about five years. Pinterest is about 52 weeks, so it does not reach 54 once it is lined up. eBay, Etsy and the YouTube Data API do not have a year of history, so their adjustment is zero, and a shorter series on the same keyword zeroes the adjustment for the others too. A fall used in the signal is never shown as worse than −100%.
Which sources does the UK edition use?
Google Trends UK (via DataForSEO); YouTube Data API (GB); Pinterest Trends (GB+IE); eBay Browse API (EBAY_GB); Etsy Open API (worldwide, as Etsy has no buyer-country filter).
Which sources does the US edition use?
Google Trends US (via DataForSEO); YouTube Data API (US); Pinterest Trends (US); eBay Browse API (EBAY_US); Etsy Open API (US-based shops only). Google Trends via DataForSEO is not collected for this edition.
Does HypeToCart publish sales or listing counts?
No. Only derived growth percentages and scores are published, never listing counts, prices or raw marketplace data.
